Tool and Mould Making
First class performance and process reliability
The mould and die industry occupies a key role in the automotive, consumer goods, aviation and electrical industry. The companies in the tool making industry display high flexibility and produce special products that require individual adaptation to the respective machining task.
Precision, contour accuracy and process reliability are essential requirements in the mould and die industry. In these categories Guhring’s precision tools do not let you down.
In this industry only up to five percent of the production costs can be allocated to the tools – they are however responsible for more than 90 percent of the profitability of production and the quality of the products.*
Various tools from Guhring are predestined for the requirements of the tool and mould making industry, as for example the RF 100 series: High-performance end mills with unequal helix for roughing and finishing with high performance and maximum quality up to 48 HRC.
Particularly in the milling sector there is an entire series of further specialised tools such as HSC copy milling cutters for 3D hard machining up to 62 HRC available as Torus and ball nosed option or GF 500 HSC copy milling cutter for 3D machining of moulds and dies up to 54 HRC as Torus and ball nosed option, radius tolerance +/-0.01mm. With threading taps score points for hard machining up to 55 HRC in HSS-E-PM or 62 HRC in solid carbide, fluteless taps in materials up to 1200 N/mm² or thread milling cutters in hard materials up to 54 HRC.
A series of ExclusiveLine drilling tools such as RT 100 T or solid carbide micro-precision tools with internal cooling for holes up to 15xD in materials up to 44 HRC are applied as well as gun drills such as for example GT 100 or our EB programme.
NC reamers in HSS-E for materials up to 1000 N/mm or our HR 500 programme, high-performance reamers for the machining of tool and hardened steels up to 62 HRC with cutting values above cermet level round off the range.
